Nate Prosser Gets Extension

The Minnesota Wild announced today that they have signed defenseman Nate Prosser to a two-year contract extension.

The 25-year-old Prosser has six assists in 23 games for the Wild this season. The Wild are 14-7-2 with the rookie in the lineup, and coach Mike Yeo has praised Prosser's poise and ability to adapt to the new style of play.

Prosser's extension will kick in next season.

While there is still plenty of play to be had, the Minnesota Timberwolves have finally reached the .500 mark after so many failed attempts to do so!

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves though. Reaching the .500 mark is just a mini-checkpoint on the way to a larger accomplishment. There is still a lot the Wolves need to do if they want to get a playoff spot with only 24 games played so far in the season.

Kevin Love Stomped Out of the Game

Well.. the NBA sure isn't feeling the Love. The association suspended Kevin Love for two games without pay for driving his foot into the face and torso of Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola.

The Wolves won 100-91, by the way.

Love and Scola had an incident in a game last Monday, when a Scola pass hit Love in the groin. Yikes. I guess revenge isn't just for girls.

Former Fighting Sioux forward Zach Parise was on Paul Allen's show 2/2/2012. At the 21:00 mark of the podcast you can hear Zach and Paul Allen discuss Zach's future.

Incidentally, since the interview Zach Parise has been on fire and scored four goals to raise his total for the season to 20 goals, this all since the Paul Allen interview.

I really hope that Zach Parise comes home to play for the Minnesota Wild in the state of Hockey. In my opinion Zach could probably be one of the final pieces for a Wild Stanley Cup.
